About us

The history of Meccanica Bicchi is the history of a family. Alfredo Bicchi, father of the founder, passed on to his son Federico the commitment and the passion for mechanics. The latter, founded in 1947 the Company that still bears his name today. Those were the years of the reconstruction after the war and Federico Bicchi started a business of manufacturing and servicing pumps and injection systems for diesel engines.
The precision required to ensure reliability and correct functioning through time demanded
constant improvement of the technology involved in the manufacturing process.
Sigfrido Bicchi, son of the founder, joins the Company in 1961 and soon realizes the potential lying in the level of precision that Meccanica Bicchi could offer at that time.

In those years of economic booming Turin’s industrial basin experienced huge developement in the automotive industry but also in other sectors, like for example, domestic appliances. The production of clamping and honing tools is then started to support the manufacturing of gears for engines and gearboxes as well as compressors for refrigerators.
In 1988 Oscar Bicchi, grand-child of the founder makes his start with the Company and in 1998 becomes Managing Director. We are now at the third generation, in a radically changed market.

International competition and globalization are at the same time a challenge and an opportunity but they demand continuous improvement and research for new technical solutions as well as an effective quality control with state-of-the-art measuring instruments, like our new 3-D numerical control measuring unit.

In a production unit keeping up with the times, attention to the environment is also important: the installation of solar panels on the roof of the Company’s building allows significant savings in greenhouse gas emissions through the use of energy from renewable source.
